The annotation panel is the Twinspect module that is responsible for applying and managing annotations both in the 3D panel and in the photo panel. The management of the annotations includes the enrichment with metadata as well as the order of the annotations in the annotation tree in folders and subfolders. There are different label formats. Especially important is the distinction between labels in the 3D model and on the photos. Only the photo annotations can be exported from the application in the form of a structured Twinspect report as a PDF. The annotation panel is divided into the annotation tree browser on the left and the annotation detail on the right. The annotation panel can be shown or hidden by the respective button in the toolbar.
8.1. Annotation Tree Browser
The annotation browser represents annotations in a tree-like structure. New annotations will automatically appear in the annotation browser and can be organised within folders and subfolders. There are several context related icons in every line of the tree browser, some of them are available either for folders or for annotations. The icons on the right side of the list element are only visible if the element is selected or hovered over. The selected element and the hovered element are highlighted.
Expand/Collapse Tree Element
By clicking on the white triangle on the left side, the corresponding line will expand or collapse.
Show/Hide Annotation/Folder in Report
If the eye is open, the annotation will is visible in the 3D panel or photo panel and will be included in the Twinspect Report. If closed, vice versa, it will neither be visible in the model or photo nor in the report.
Annotation Type and Name
There are different annotation types. Especially important is the distinction between annotations made in the 3D panel and in the photo panel. Only the photo annotations can be exported from the application in the form of a structured report as a PDF. In the annotation detail view it is possible to give a name for each annotation. This name will be shown next to the type defining icon in the annotation tree.
Severity level
The severity level will be shown as a color code on the left side of each annotation.
Green = Level 1
Yellow = Level 2
Orange = Level 3
Light red = Level 4
Dark red = Level 5
Blue = Information
Search Annotations
In the search bar you can search for the names of annotations or folders.
These are then displayed in a filtered manner.
Filtering Annotations
With a click on the sort button, you can change the order of the annotations displayed in the Annotation Tree Browser.
The following filters are available:
Copy Annotation Link to Clipboard
This button copies a URL into the cache that contains the corresponding annotation as a deeplink, so that it is directly selected and displayed when Twinspect is opened via this link. The link can be inserted into an email, for example, using CTRL-V, APPLE-V, or the paste-menu item.
Create New Annotation Folder
This icon exists only in folder list items. Clicking it creates a new empty folder as a subfolder of the selected folder.
Delete Annotation
This button deletes the annotation.
Sorting
Annotations but also folders can be sorted by drag and drop. To move an annotation to a folder, it can simply be dragged onto it. To move it to a parent folder, it must be dragged so that it is outside the folder. The mouse pointer changes accordingly if the annotation or folder can be dropped or not dropped.
8.2. Annotation Details
The Annotation Details view contains several tabs of meta data for the selected annotation in the annotation tree or in the 3D Panel or in the Photo Panel. The number of tabs depends on the selected annotation. In the title bar there is an icon that shows the type of annotation and next to it the title given to it. The annotations are considered in two different versions. The 2D annotation can be annotated directly in the image in the Image Board. These annotations are transferred in the report. When no annotation is selected, the details view is empty.
8.2.1 Copy Annotation Link
With this button one copies a link that leads directly to the selected annotation in the model. This link can be given to another person to show an annotation.
8.2.2 Edit Annotation Details
In the detail section, information can be added to the measurement that has been created.
Measurements have an extended detail window where detailed information can be displayed that is shown in the TWINSPECT® project.
1. Severity Level
A distinction can be made between 5 different severity levels and the information level.
2. Title
The name of the measurement can be freely chosen.
3. Description
In this text field a free text can be entered to describe the annotation.
4. Recommended Actions
For further action, the annotation can be set to "Keep Under Observation" or "Repair".
5. Custom Tags
Here the damaged areas can be assigned to specific tags using a drop-down menu.
6. External Link
With the external link function, web pages and URLs can be assigned.
7. Images
Images can be added to any annotation from the Photo Panel simply by dragging and dropping.
8.2.3 Annotation Details Options
1. Delete
The currently selected annotation will be deleted.
2. Dock
Dock the annotation details to the lower left margin. Here the button changes to "Undock". With this you can change the annotation details back to a floating panel.
3. Update perspective
Changes the location in the 3D model that is approached when the annotation is selected.
