The Photo Panel is a Twinspect® module that allows the integration of the original high resolution photos that were used to create the photogrammetry model that is displayed in the 3D Panel. The photos are matched and linked with the respective elements in the 3D model which allows to navigate between the photos by navigation in the 3D model. The photos can be annotated and the annotations can be selected in the Annotation Panel to be part of a Twinspect® report. The photo panel is divided into the Photo Viewer and the Photo Browser below. The Photo Panel can be shown or hidden by the respective button in the Toolbar.
9.1. Photo Viewer
The photo viewer shows a selected photo from the Photo Browser in high resolution. Its behavior and the functionality of the toolbar is described below.
Connection between Photo Viewer, Photo Browser and 3D Panel
The photo displayed here can either be selected manually in the Photo Browser or is automatically selected as the best-fit photo representing the clicked area when you click into the 3D model. When a new photo is selected in the Photo Browser, the perspective of the 3D Panel tries to change to the position of the photo. The same happens when a double left click is performed on another spot in the 3D model.
Connection between Photo Browser and Annotation Panel
In the Annotation Panel there is an option to add additional photos to a photo annotation, which will then also be output at this point in the report. To do this, the photos are dragged and dropped from the Photo Browser into the corresponding area in the Annotation Detail View.
Photo Viewer Toolbar
The Photo Viewer has a toolbar that allows configuration of the Photo Viewers behavior. Next to the five buttons that are described below is the title of the photo and the button to close the Photo Panel. If the Annotation Panel is closed, the toolbar may be reduced.
Flip Views
As the Photo Panel is the main workflow element for many users, it is possible to switch 3D Panel and Photo Viewer. In this way, the photo can be viewed in greater resolution in the center of the screen. Another left click on the icon switches back to the default view.
The photo will be downloaded in original resolution following the download specific browser settings.
Annotations will not be downloaded.
Show/Hide Spotlight
When Spotlight is enabled, whenever a point in the 3D model is highlighted by double-clicking on it, the same point will be marked by a green circle on all photos where it can be seen.
Show/Hide Navigation Helper for Photo Zoom
It is possible to zoom in and out of the photo with the mouse wheel while hovering over the photo. When Navigation Helper is enabled, a square shows the position of the zoomed section in the photo. The section can be moved by dragging it with the right mouse button pressed.
9.2. Photo Browser
The Photo Browser contains all photos that are the basis of the 3D Model. When a photo is selected in the Photo Browser, it will be shown in full resolution in the Photo Viewer. The photos in the Photo Browser can be filtered and sorted. Its behavior and the functionality of the Photo Browser toolbar is described below.
Photo Browser Toolbar
The Photo Browser has a toolbar that allows configuration of the Photo Browsers behavior. Next to the three buttons that are described below is the number of photos and, if a point is selected in the 3D model, the number of photos on which this point is .
Show/Hide Camera Positions
If this option is enabled, the cameras and their specific position and alignment in space are displayed in the 3D model. On hover, a camera icon turns green. If clicked, the corresponding photo is shown in the Photo Viewer.
Automatic Navigation
If this option is enabled, the 3D model will automatically navigate to the perspective of the photo selected in the Photo Browser.
Filter/Show All
If a point is selected in the 3D model, all photos that do not contain this point are filtered out and the remaining ones are automatically sorted according to their relevance, i.e. the visibility of the point. This filtering and sorting can be disabled by clicking this button.
