Every image in your project was taken from somewhere on or around the structure. Show camera positions to see each one on the model as a small camera, check what an image covers before you open it, and open it by clicking its camera.
Camera positions start hidden each time you open a project, and showing them changes nothing for anyone else. Cameras never appear in observation screenshots, the project thumbnail or reports.
Point at a camera without clicking:
It also works the other way round: point at a thumbnail in the image panel and its camera is highlighted on the model.
The darkening follows the image's frame. It does not show what blocks the camera's view, so a surface behind a wall can stay bright even though the image cannot see it.
Dragging from a camera still moves the view. Only a click opens the image.
If Auto-sync 3D is on in the toolbar above the image, the 3D view also moves to where the image was taken. While the view is at that position, the image's own camera is hidden.
Click a spot on the model to fill the Nearby images panel. Cameras whose images do not show that spot are hidden, leaving only the ones that do. Click × on the Nearby images panel (Clear picked spot) to show every camera again.
| What you see | What it means |
| No cameras appear | The project has no images with camera positions, for example a project uploaded as a 3D model only. |
| Some images have no camera | Only images with a camera position in the uploaded camera data get one. |
| Most cameras disappeared after clicking the model | Picking a spot hides the cameras that do not show it. Click × on Nearby images to show them all. |
| Camera positions are hidden again | They start hidden each time you open a project. Click Camera positions to show them. |
| An area stays bright, but the image does not show it | The darkening follows the image's frame, not what stands between the camera and the surface. |
| The camera of the open image has gone | The 3D view is at that camera's position. Move away and it reappears. |
