The model shows you shape; the images show you detail. Open an image and it appears beside the 3D view, so you can compare the two, then zoom in to read a crack width or check a weld.
Click a thumbnail. That is the only way in, and there are several places to find one:
Selecting an observation does not open an image on its own. Nor does clicking the model. Both prepare the images for you; you then click the one you want.
Once an image is open, use the navigation controls on it to step through the others in the current set: the images covering a picked spot, or all the images on an observation.

Escape works through one thing at a time, most recent first. If you have just selected an observation, the first Escape clears that selection and the image stays open. Press it again to close the image.
A defect is often clearer in one image than another: a better angle, closer, better light. Rather than scrolling the whole image set, click the spot on the model and Twinsity finds the images that show it.
That is two steps, not one: picking fills the panel, and you then choose an image. Nothing opens automatically.
The images are ranked, so the first few are usually the ones worth opening: closest to straight-on, nearest, least obstructed. If the first does not show what you need, the next few probably will.
Clicking an image does not pick a point on the model. Picking works from the model only.
A spot may genuinely have no coverage: a surface no camera faced, or an area outside the flight path. If a whole region turns up nothing, that is more likely a gap in the capture than a fault. If nothing anywhere produces images, the project's images and model may not be lined up. See Troubleshooting missing images and rejected files.
Inspection images are high resolution, holding far more detail than fits on screen.

Zooming follows your cursor, so point at what you want to inspect before you scroll rather than zooming and then hunting for it.
Fit is the way back whenever you have lost your place.
Images taken in shadow or glare can often be read after adjustment. The image settings offer brightness, contrast and saturation.
These affect only how the image looks on your screen. They change nothing for anyone else, and nothing about the image itself.
The image's details panel shows what the camera recorded: when it was taken, and where it was. Useful when you need to date a defect or find the same spot on a later survey.
Go to image in 3D moves the 3D camera to where this image was taken from, so you can see the same view on the model.
